Last week one of my dear friends died. His influence was felt all over the world. He wrote books on love, peace and breathing. He gave workshops around the world. What is really interesting is that his wife said that she loved sharing her life with him. In other words, he shared his life with her. It is a two way street. He was fully conscious when he left and had prepared for leaving earth many month’s prior.
What It Means to Share a Life
I started to think about sharing one’s life with another. Traditionally this is marriage or partnership with another and each shares with another but it is also sharing compassion with those around you. You spend time and do things together. It is an act of kindness. It can be quite spiritual when you open your heart and share emotions. It is a process of growth. When it is done for others it could be called charity.
Love as a Daily Practice
Start with the smallest things and realize what it means to share, i.e. help others. It is a mindset. It is an uplifting feeling. I have been with my wife for over 35 years. Many in marriage. I can’t wait to see her everyday. She is a joy to be with. We have our physical challenges and find it difficult to sleep at night but it gives a purpose for existence. We love doing things for each other. This I think is a good definition of love. When I am with her, I feel at peace. I have problems about doing things and getting older as it has its challenges, but having spent a life with another person is a great spiritual act.
The Joy of Finding a Partner
For all of our clients, in Marin Ca. About 82% get divorced. I am divorced, and finding another for what you have learned is really wonderful. There is so much joy in having a partner. One that is always there for you. You have to learn how to communicate as we have different needs, but one helps the other. Whether it is cooking meals or washing dishes. It is a joy. It is a spiritual quality. Many have stayed single because they have not found their mate, but I think that was because everything was set up before hand when you incarnated. How people find people in their dreams and it may seem like change, but its divine grace.
Why Two Together Makes Life Easier
When two together as one life is easier because you don’t have to do everything your self. Traditionally it was the male earning money and the wife taking care of the house and often the children. That is a validation that two make it easier than one. In a partnership, if you select the right person or persons, be clear on what has to be done by each. Often assumptions don’t work. We developed in the Diamond of Consciousness book the things that you have to do to assure that things do work together.
Defining What You Want Together
Basically it is defining what you want. Both agreeing on it. Setting a time frame and rewarding each other with either money or getting the job done. If you do this at work, it will always work without all the need of knowing people’s problems. They either agree to do something or don’t Set it up beforehand and you can have a good partnership and even marriage.
