I am in Kauai on my by yearly 2026 trip and am enjoying God, the lush vegetation, beautiful beaches and people near the Napoli Coast line in Hanalei, which I can see from my balcony. I wanted to talk about one of the most spiritual things I know, which is music. Yes, I love eating a good papaya for breakfast, but they are not in season during May, so I brought my guitar with me and I play and sing for several hours a day. In Kauai, the sounds I produce remind me of the setting and the laid back life that people live here. I sing about all the pretty girls, who seem to be wearing tattoos, verses much of a bathing suit. It looks good on people one third my age who are tanned and hard due to youth. By singing songs of love and beauty, you become love and beauty. As well as young in heart, great healing medicine.
The Magic of Bali Hai
Across from Hanalei Bay is Bali Hai. It is a jagged lava formation that a movie was made at called South Pacific. It is beautiful and it fills the surrounding atmosphere with magic, especially on the beaches it is near. I love playing the song Bali Hai which talks about it calling you in your heart. It makes you feel your special dreams that are associated to special island. The Hawaiian islands are noted for its slack guitar playing with many beautiful songs that have people dance the hula in grass skirts. It is a dream come true and it makes you feel you that way.
Breathing in the Music of Life
One of the things that inspires me the most and revitalizes me is the air that you breathe, it is so clean and vibrate, that when you play music you feel young at heart, even if you are old at my ripe old age of the late 70s. The sun is just rising over the ocean and I capture it in sound by playing some augmented and major seventh chords with some songs about the sun rising and it reflecting over the ocean. They are slow and it causes a dreaming sensation.
Nature’s Symphony
In music you can capture what things means and if you put words to a song, it can have special meaning. It may be about love, the surfers on the waves, which are often 7 feet high like yesterday and they are fun to swim in. The birds are chirping and you hear them in the background with roosters crowing, every animal is producing some sound. It is natures symphony. There is even a gecko in the kitchen that you occasionally hear its sound.
Sound, Vibration and the Energy of One Love
Since One Love is about energy and how you respond to it, you can’t help but realize that sound and its vibration is part of the experience of life. Sight plays another important aspect, especially when the light grays start turning into a rainbow in the early moments of each day. You can see the many waterfalls on the mountains after the evening rains. It is one thing writing about a dreaming topic of sound, vibration and color on a tropical island, but this is all about spirituality, which is the use of energy for health, happiness and well being.
Being Present to a Dream Come True
There is no hustle and bustle to deal with, just happiness and joy. If you want to improve your health and vitality, just spend some time in a dream come true eating local food of greens and fishes. Oh, now there is enough light to see the outline of Bali Hai and the water in the bay. Instead of taking pills and putting up with the hassle of traffic going to work with people who are rushing around to make the last dollar they can, think of enjoying what you have and just being present to romance and sounds of island music, where chickens are running all around you.
