The Influence of Color on Mood
Yesterday, I wrote about the frequency of the rainbow. Today, let’s focus on color, a major influencer of our emotions. It’s winter here in Marin, California, and the rainy season has turned the hills a vibrant green. Life seems to awaken after the winter dormancy, it’s beautiful. Have you ever noticed how color influences your mood? Give me a green hill or a lush plant, and I’m instantly happy. That’s one reason I make the annual pilgrimage to Kauai, it’s stunningly green!
Personal Experiences with Auras
The first time I ever saw someone’s aura, it was from their heart chakra, and it appeared as a green fog. I couldn’t believe my eyes. She was deeply emotional, and we were discussing life, death, and faith, she was a rabbi’s wife. I even checked my glasses to make sure I wasn’t imagining it. I wasn’t.
On another occasion in Florida, during a reading, two of my guides appeared, and the entire room glowed purple. Again, I was skeptical. When I see souls, they often appear yellow. Each color carries meaning. If you ever visit a psychic fair, you can get a Kirlian photograph of your aura, I have mine hanging up. My partner’s aura, for example, shows white spikes around the head rather than color.
Colors in Our Environment
Colors influence our mood, feelings, and behavior. Warm colors, such as red, orange, and yellow, represent energy, passion, and happiness. Cooler colors, like blue, green, and purple, inspire calmness and trust. Even the colors in a room can profoundly affect your experience. For instance, we once lived in a house where one room had heavy, negative energy, partly because of its position over a river. After calling a healer to clear the space, we painted the room off-white, symbolizing purity, and the atmosphere transformed.

Spirituality and the Frequency of Color
Colors play a significant role in creating happiness, which aligns perfectly with our definition of spirituality: the use of energy for health, happiness, and well-being. Think of how you can use colors for healing, painting rooms, decorating spaces, or simply surrounding yourself with hues that lift your spirits. In our favorite house, we used 17 different colors throughout the rooms, each reflecting aspects of the outdoors, so we were constantly reminded of the natural beauty around us.
Some may ask, “What does color have to do with religion?” In our view, everything. Each color carries a frequency, and we are all made of energy. If color can positively affect your emotions and your well-being, why not make your life more joyful, especially in the spaces where you spend the most time?
