Two open hands reaching toward each other in warm light, expressing the move beyond religious hatred toward unity and peace

One Love – Hatred

I am often struck by how much hatred can be generated in the name of religion. Throughout history, different groups have often held deep mistrust or hostility toward one another. These divisions are not limited to one tradition or one people, they appear in many cultures and eras, including conflicts between religious, ethnic, and national groups.

When I was a child, I noticed similar patterns of prejudice among communities, where different groups distrusted or disliked others. It seems that human history is filled with cycles of separation and conflict, often justified through belief systems, identity, or power.

The Roots of Religious Hatred

One of the questions I continue to reflect on is how much of this conflict is driven by religion itself versus how much is driven by human interpretation, politics, and the desire for control. Religion, for many people, is deeply meaningful and sacred. At the same time, it has also been used throughout history to justify separation and conflict.

Some interpretations of religious texts emphasize exclusivity or strict boundaries between believers and non-believers. In other cases, the same traditions emphasize compassion, peace, and care for others. This tension has existed for centuries and continues today.

When Human Conflict Wears the Mask of Faith

From my perspective, much of what we call “religious conflict” may actually be human conflict expressed through the language of religion. Over time, stories, teachings, and historical events become interpreted in different ways, and these interpretations can lead to division.

We have also seen how often wars and political struggles become entangled with religious identity. From historical crusades to modern conflicts, religion is frequently part of the narrative, even when underlying causes also include land, power, fear, and economics. I do not believe humanity has fully learned how to move beyond this pattern.

Love and Peace as the Foundation

The reason I write about One Love and continue these Star of Light reflections is because, in my view, there are two essential principles for a healthy society: love and peace. But love cannot be forced. It must be chosen. Like a parent’s love for a child, it arises from intention, care, and awareness.

True peace is difficult when belief systems, economic systems, and power structures pull people in very different directions. Many people also place great importance on money and material success, sometimes treating them as a kind of guiding force or “god” in everyday life.

Power, Money, and the Loss of Inner Focus

At the same time, access to resources and energy, whether food, electricity, or fuel, shapes the lives of entire nations. We see how shortages or control of energy resources can affect political systems, leadership, and the well-being of citizens around the world.

In my view, many of the deeper struggles in society come from a loss of focus on what it means to live a meaningful life. Instead of developing inner awareness, compassion, and connection, people often become consumed by external power, identity, or survival.

Life as a Journey of Consciousness

I believe life is also a journey of consciousness. Each person carries experiences, patterns, and awareness that continue to evolve over time. Whether or not one believes in past lives or reincarnation, there is still a sense that something within us develops and carries forward through our choices, growth, and understanding.

Moving Beyond Religious Hatred

When we begin to see life through the lens of energy, awareness, and connection, it becomes easier to understand why compassion and service matter so deeply.

In that sense, the message remains simple: move toward understanding rather than separation, and toward love rather than hatred. That, to me, is the foundation of One Love.
