The effort was driven by powerful institutions such as the Treasury, the military-industrial complex, the oil industry, and other major corporate interests.

This raises an important question: what can a philosophy of Love and Peace offer the world when politics is largely driven by money and economic power? It is a fair and difficult question. Without unlimited resources, it is unrealistic to think we can simply become part of the Deep State ourselves.
