Making Conscious Choices in Life
I wrote several books on spiritual topics in my seventies. What I have learned is that you must make your own decisions about how you want to live your life. This includes what you want to do with it and what you choose to believe in. As you become more conscious, however, you are forced to confront many issues along the way.
Feeling Fully Alive
The ultimate goal is to feel as fully alive as possible. You want your mind to be alert and grounded in truth. You want your emotions to be expressed and connected to your body’s responses. At its core, this is about experiencing pleasure and fulfillment in life.
Why You Must Test Truth for Yourself
Achieving this requires study and intention, it rarely happens by luck or on a random basis. You cannot simply accept someone else’s advice without experimenting for yourself. In my experience, many people offer advice, and much of it is wrong, whether it comes from doctors, friends, or family. Ultimately, you must make your own decisions. That is what life is about: choosing what you believe in and discovering what is true for you.
Relationships and Personal Values
This is especially true in relationships. Finding the right partner takes time and goes far beyond sex and fun. You need to understand the other person’s values, goals, and character—how they behave when things go wrong, not just when things are easy.
Vision, Energy, and the V-MAP Process
Another important aspect is understanding the flow of energy embedded in nature. There is a natural order to create anything meaningful. We call this process V-MAP. First comes your vision. Next is the blueprint or mission that turns your vision into something tangible. Finally, you must act and implement it to produce results. Often, your assumptions are wrong, and you have to revisit the process and refine it.
Authority, Work, and Personal Responsibility
You also have to recognize that many people are unsure of what they are doing, from government leaders down to everyday managers. Sometimes the person who hires you does not fully understand how to run a business, and you simply hope they make the right decisions. Most businesses exist to serve others or to manufacture products that create a market. That is why it is important to research an employer to see if they meet your needs, rather than just sending a résumé and waiting to be evaluated. It is a two-way street.
Choosing Belief and Creating Meaning
What you believe today may not be what you believe tomorrow. At some point, you must consciously choose what feels true to you. We advocate the use of energy-based spirituality rather than worshipping gods from another planet who allegedly created humans to mine gold and serve as slaves.
Ultimately, life has no inherent meaning unless you give it meaning. We are simply living beings in an unfolding universe, endowed with feelings and awareness. We wrote a book on rituals to help people create meaning in their lives. By bonding with family and friends and sharing love and peace, we grow and function far better than when we live in fear or attempt to control everything around us.
The Decision Is Yours
In conclusion, take the time to sit down and plan what you want to do and what you want to believe in. There are many paths to choose from. The decision is yours.
