Consciousness – The Sutras

Recently, I have been writing about Jesus and his level of consciousness. I also wrote that if One Love were to be classified, it would be considered a somewhat New Age religion, because it embraces many Oriental concepts such as meditation, breathing, and going within to find God, along with the important idea that you are God. You can immediately see the conflict between what the Church wants Jesus to represent and what millions believe through Oriental philosophy.

The Universal Divine Consciousness

According to The Recognition Sutras by Christopher Wallis, the premise of the Sutras is that all beings are expressions of a single, universal Divine Consciousness. We call this One Love. It is worth noting that Jesus spent many years, often referred to as the “missing” 18 years, in the Orient, where he likely studied these teachings. He preached valuable principles to his followers, while the Church later created stories about Jesus that are not historically accurate. We have listed many of these inconsistencies in our three free One Love books available online.

Freedom Through Energy, Not Control

So who should you believe, the wisdom teachings of the Sutras, or the version of Jesus presented by the Church? The Sutras were written to liberate you, and they do not require going through Jesus to be saved. There are many paths to God, and the path of One Love is through energy. Energy was not a concept fully understood when religions were formed. Much of organized religion, particularly after the Council of Nicaea, was shaped to control the masses for Emperor Constantine. You can even trace similar belief systems back to Zoroastrianism and the teachings of Nabu, which were established for his father, Marduk, the Egyptian sun god.

What are the Sutras?

For those unfamiliar with Sutras, they are spiritual teachings designed to preserve, transmit, and guide practitioners through core philosophical, ethical, and meditative principles, helping one achieve spiritual freedom. Spiritual freedom is often described in religious texts. In our definition, it is the conscious use of energy for health, happiness, and well-being.

Awakening to Your True Nature

At their core, the Sutras are concepts written to awaken you to your true nature. In today’s world, this awakening is often supported by science and an understanding of how the body functions. Christianity and Islam generally do not teach this. Tantra, a foundational emphasis within the Sutras, focuses on self-exploration and self-love. One reaches truth through inner exploration, not through the worship of a human god said to have given us genes or created us to mine gold and serve as slaves.

Living a Sacred, Ordinary Life

The idea behind the Sutras is that when you become aware of reality, everything you do is sacred. You live an ordinary life, practice meditation, and honor all beings. Every action becomes an expression of the Divine. In our philosophy, this Divine is the God of Energy, who placed consciousness in the universe for us to recognize and use to improve our lives.

The Synthesis of Love and Peace

The concept of learning how to love oneself appears to be unique to Oriental religions and is largely absent in Western religions. That is why One Love was written. It merges the wisdom of Oriental traditions with modern scientific understanding. We call this synthesis the Love and Peace Scriptures. It is a hierarchy of energy that you can use throughout your life. There is no external God watching over you to determine your actions. It is all up to you.
