Mathematics as a Foundation
In previous blogs, we discussed Sacred Geometry as the foundation of the Star of Light’s operating system. But there is another essential element, numbers. Mathematics permeates every aspect of life, and we believe it should be central to any realistic belief system. Math helps us build businesses, run societies, manage money, and make sense of the world. We add, subtract, multiply, and divide, it is inseparable from daily life.
Pythagoras and Divine Archetypes
The Greeks revered numbers. To Pythagoras and his followers, numbers were tangible, eternal, and undeniable. If someone pays you ten dollars, that $10 is real, it may have more or less value, but it represents a foundation for your transaction. At Star of Light, we call numbers God’s archetypes. The universe is designed with precise structure, and numbers reveal that order.
The Power of 1 Through 9
We focus especially on numbers 1 through 8, as our operating system is built around them. Other important numbers include zero, phi (φ), and pi (π). When you include 9, you have the basis of the numbering system used in everyday life. These numbers, we believe, provide a realistic foundation for understanding reality, unlike made-up stories designed to entertain or inspire.
Unity and Duality
Number One (1) represents unity and the source of all things. It symbolizes God, the center from which everything emanates. It is complete and indivisible, like a circle with one center. In modern terms, it even parallels the binary system, with something either “on” or “off.”
When one becomes two, a new world opens up, duality. Two represents beginnings and endings, birth, and relationships. Add a third, and you have the Trinity: one, two, and three. This is seen in religion (Father, Son, Holy Spirit), in family (Father, Mother, Child), and in time (beginning, middle, end). Numbers one through three already contain nearly limitless spiritual concepts.
The Role of Phi and Pi
Between these numbers are phi (φ ≈ 1.618), which creates balance and beauty in nature and art, and pi (π ≈ 3.1415…), which measures circles and extends infinitely in its decimal form. Both demonstrate how numbers are woven into the fabric of reality.
The Backbone of Existence
Numbers are the backbone of existence, they measure, define, and give value. They appear in games, architecture, nature, and even our brains (and the brains of animals). Dice, for example, assign value to each side, giving meaning to play and chance.
In future blogs, we will expand on these basic archetypes. For now, consider this: numbers are more than tools, they are a basis for an energy-based belief system. They are true, measurable, and universal. We teach them to children because understanding numbers is essential for navigating life and the universe.
