One of our favorite topics is the connection between water and spirituality. Spirituality is about using energy for health, happiness, and well-being. In physical terms, this relates to energy measured in millivolts (mV). For example, healthy cells in the body need about –25 mV and a pH of 7.44 to function properly. Water with a pH around 7.88 carries a similar energy balance, using a negative charge that supports the body’s natural processes.
The Energy Flow of the Body
Electricity flows from negative to positive, and the body’s energy works the same way. When your body’s pH drops below 7 (becoming acidic), you may experience health problems—everything from low oxygen levels to disease. Maintaining a pH above 7 helps the body stay balanced and healthy.
Water, Diet, and pH Balance
Since more than 70% of the body is water, what we drink is essential. The best sources for maintaining a healthy pH are marine phytoplankton, wheatgrass, and raw fruits and vegetables. On the other hand, processed or heavily cooked foods—like hot dogs, steak, and poultry—can lower your pH and energy levels.
The Power of High-Quality Water
High-quality water also makes a difference. Glacial water from mountains like Mt. Shasta, as well as certain spring waters such as Perrier or Panna, often carry a strong negative charge and taste fresh and clean. The term pH refers to the concentration of hydrogen ions in water:
- A pH of 7 is neutral
- Above 7 is alkaline
- Below 7 is acidic
Spiritual Wellness Through Water
For those who value spiritual and physical wellness, drinking high-pH water is vital. We use reverse osmosis water and then spin it in a Mayu container to improve absorption. In Book 1: One Love, we include pH tables for both food and water, showing how electrical flow within the body supports mitochondria and overall vitality. If you use tap water, have it tested—it may contain heavy metals or chemicals that can harm your health. Most homes today benefit from a water filtration system.
The Global Problem of Water Pollution
Unfortunately, pollution has become a serious issue. Tap water in many cities contains numerous heavy metals, chlorine, and other harmful chemicals. Areas in Arizona, Ohio, California, and Florida often struggle with contamination, including lead from old pipes. Some mountain towns, small islands, and newer communities have cleaner sources, especially those using rainwater or advanced filtration.
A Call to Protect Our Planet’s Waters
Worldwide, water pollution is severe. Many rivers—like the Ganges, Nile, and Yellow River—are unsafe for swimming or fishing. Even in the U.S., the Mississippi River and waterways in places like Kauai are affected by runoff and bacteria. Plastic waste now floats in massive patches across the oceans, and even remote islands are covered in debris.
We can clean up much of this damage by hand, but real progress requires strong laws and accountability. Imagine how wonderful it would be to swim in the Potomac or the Seine if the waters were clean again. The health of our planet—and ourselves—depends on it.
