A quiet moment symbolizing contribution and connection in everyday life

Consciousness: Your Contribution to Someone’s Life

The Question That Defines a Life

One of the great questions in life is this: What is your contribution to someone else’s life? It may be your neighbor or a friend. Often, it is your children, those you raised and shared happy moments with. That, in many ways, sums up life.

Moments of Service and Shared Joy

Throughout our lives, we are given moments when we can contribute through friendship, advice, kindness, and shared joy. It may happen on the sidelines of a football game, at a party, or at work. Regardless of the setting, it is service to another person’s soul. These moments create memories that you later recall and integrate into your life. You learn from them. They are not always easy, because good times carry emotions that can no longer be relived once they pass.

Conscious Presence and Letting Go

And they take time. You must be conscious of what you are doing. When you are adding something meaningful to another person’s life, it doesn’t get much better than that. They may appreciate you even if they never say it out loud. So when neighbors move away, friends relocate, or children leave for school and the house becomes an empty nest, you must accept what has happened. Everyone is continuing their own journey.

Memory, Time, and Change

As I get older, I find myself recalling these moments more often. The memories seem to resurface repeatedly. Times change, Bob Dylan captured it perfectly when he sang “The Times They Are A-Changin’.” That is one of life’s most basic truths. What happens today likely won’t happen tomorrow. If you are fortunate, you carry memories of having given what you had to offer to another person.

Choosing Love as Legacy

This raises an important question: Were you doing what you truly wanted to do when you made those contributions? It matters, because life moves on and moments of pleasure fade. If the answer is yes, you are fine. If not, consider changing direction. Helping others should come from love. You must show people who you really are. In many ways, this becomes your legacy, especially for your children.

Love, Peace, and Everyday Acts

You help a neighbor when they need it. You listen when a friend wants to share. In the Star of Light and One Love, we emphasize love and peace. That is truly all that is needed. It enhances our well-being and allows our energy to flow.

Practices That Support Energy Flow

We offer 64 concepts designed to help that energy flow. They are organized under the themes of love, light, life, and living, abbreviated as 11:11. These concepts apply to every stage of life. Practices such as ritual and meditation support everything from service to celebration, whether honoring someone’s birthday or a holiday. Meditation quiets the mind, activates deeper thinking, and allows you to go within, often to discover your true self.

What Truly Remains

When it comes to healing, memories often surface, especially the good ones. Cherish them, because they are what truly remain. Much of what we chase, money and material things, is an illusion. Love and peace are what endure through the ages. These experiences are often cellular, bringing joy to everyone involved.

Remember, you are a SOL Star, connected to God. This is one of the ways you show it.
