Christmas Eve Reflections
Tonight is Christmas Eve, 2025. We have my son and daughter-in-law over for dinner. In the past, we used to exchange gifts, but tonight, dinner is enough.
Questioning Religion and Tradition
By now, you know how I feel about religion. I believe it was created by people and became one of the biggest lies ever told to humanity. It was built on fear and control, and today, it has also become a tool for commerce, with everyone selling Christmas items. What should we make of that?
For generations, we have passed down the stories of the Bible. Nearly everyone knows about the Exodus from Egypt, the healings of Jesus, and the religious conflicts in the Middle East.
Reexamining Religious History
Yet, I believe the Exodus never happened, many of Jesus’s stories were created later, and while Mohammed may have lived, Mecca did not exist at the time. For about a hundred years, followers of Islam prayed toward Petra in Jordan, not Mecca, until later stories were formed.
So where do our values come from? And what should we be passing on during the holidays?
The True Message of the Holidays
The answer is love and peace.
Love is helping others. Peace is a state of harmony, with nature, with others, and within ourselves. You might call it peace of mind. Often, love and peace are the same thing.
Inequality, Power, and Society
Today, society is full of conflict driven by inequality, wealth, and control. Governments tend to serve the rich rather than the poor, especially when it comes to healthcare and safety nets for everyday people.
I can speak to this from experience. I spent 55 years dealing with taxes. The middle class gets wiped out, even though they are the backbone of society. People need to wake up. The middle class deserves deductions and support too, not just the wealthy.
Ancient Stories and Human Conflict
Some believe our values came from the Anunnaki, who supposedly created humans in their own image 232,000 years ago. According to these stories, they were not kind. Humans were made as slaves and given short lives, while beings like Enki, Enlil, and King Anu lived for hundreds of thousands of years and still exist on their planet, Nibiru.
These beings are said to have left Earth shortly after the Battle of Troy. They came here seeking gold to repair their own planet, became the Olympians, and continued fighting among themselves.
Inherited Beliefs and Endless Wars
Wars and gold have driven conflict for thousands of years, and those values continue to shape the problems we face today. What our parents believe is often what we believe, and those beliefs get passed down generation after generation.
I don’t understand why people don’t want to wake up.
The U.S. fights Venezuela, Russia fights Ukraine, and people fight one another. Yet the core message, love and peace, is the one thing religions got right.
Love and Peace Above All
The stories of Jesus helping the poor make sense. That idea forms the backbone of the Church. But many of the supernatural stories, virgin birth, resurrection, and so on, are hard to believe in today’s world.
If you carry the spirit of Christmas, its message of love and peace, you will truly be a SOL brother or sister.
